Student-managed portfolio
Portfolio
The club invests real money. Every holding below started as a member's pitch, was voted in by the board, and is covered by an analyst for as long as we own it. Prices update live during market hours.
Performance figures reflect the club's portfolio. Past results are not indicative of future returns.
How we invest
Philosophy & process
Philosophy
We buy businesses, not tickers. A pitch has to explain what the company does, why it earns more than its cost of capital, and what the market is getting wrong. Ideas that rest on momentum or on a multiple alone do not survive the room.
The portfolio holds about a dozen names, so each position is large enough to matter. New positions are opened at a set size rather than sized to conviction, which keeps the debate on the thesis. We revisit a holding when its numbers change, when the price moves well past what we think it is worth, or when the analyst covering it asks the board to look again.
From idea to position
- Pitch
A member or team brings a written application, a model, and a deck to a Tuesday meeting.
- Vote
The room asks questions, then the board votes to buy or to pass. Roughly one pitch in three is bought.
- Cover
Every holding is assigned to an analyst who tracks earnings and news and reports back when the board calls for it.
